Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

If you want Pizza, you go this location Pizza Mambos. They have pepperoni or cheese by the slice. Do not expect a jumbo slice, but expect a good size slice, one you can fold. I have been going to this location once every summer for the past 4 summers. Its a must if you want PIZZA! Open late night too (til 3 a.m.?, call). PRICE: SUPER AFFORDABLE slice less than $3. Inside seating are booths, has a TV to view. Its a great place for pizza. Never disappointed. Happy Eats.

  • Tamira T.

Got a pizza from here due to impending bad weather, and figuring we'd be hotel bound for the night. Was very disappointed and didn't even want to waste the calories on a second piece! Ugh. Bummer. And I'm not a picky person. Most pizzas are totally edible in my opinion! And then the weather miraculously cleared. Could have eaten on the boardwalk. More food for the seagulls. They eat anything!

Been here a few times now and service and quality consistently goes down each time.

WORST food and WORST customer service in Ocean City. We ordered chicken fingers, mozz sticks, a Caesar salad and a plain pizza - when they were delivered, the chicken was over fried to the point where you could chip a tooth on the breading. The mozzarella sticks were freezing cold and undercooked, and the salad had no dressing. The pizza was awful with the cheese having run all to one side. When we complained and asked to be refunded or given a replacement meal, the manager refused and hung up on us. With a million other pizza places on the island, this place will no longer be getting our business! STAY AWAY!

Just had a excellent weekend with friends in OC. Ordered 2 XL MeatLovers Pizzas and breadstix for delivery at about 4am. The food arrived in about 20-25 minutes right to our hotel room. The smell was so good that woke up two of my passed out friends(You know how it is in OC). Excellent combination of meat and cheese. The crust was perfect. We could not stop eating. Would definitely recommend. A+++.

Omg so good. Bf and I arrived in OC at like 1030, decided at 1145 we desperately needed pizza to accompany us at the beach front balcony of our room. Yelped for 24 hour pizza, this place came up and it definitely was clutch. Ordered a large cheese and a Caesar salad. Salad was good, typical pizza shop salad. The pizza was pretty bangin, I see people are calling it "greasy" but real cheese has fat people, and fat just makes stuff tasty. Yes I now feel like a fatty as I couldn't stop eating (inhaled four slices whatever). not only do they deliver, but the pizza was lightly seasoned with oregano and let me tell you what really won me over was that they included little Togo cups of pepper flakes and parm. Thank god. For delicious convenient 1am beach pizza this is definitely the place to call!

  • Barbara V.

Ordered the other night while staying in OC. The pepperoni pizza was good. Don't bother with the Caesar salad, it had more croutons than lettuce and wasn't worth the $5. The delivery guy was fast, polite and brought the food right to our hotel room.

DELIVERY UNTIL 4AM?! OH THANK THE LAWWD!! We got back from our bachelor party bar crawl where things got seriously weird and we were all the way up.. and called Mambo because they were the only place really open that delivered at 3AM. PIZZA: We got 2 larges - they run a deal buy one get second half price. Let me tell you.. that deal is HUGE... HUUUUGEEE!!! The pizza was done very well- not burnt, not chewy- great toppings and just the right amount of cheese, grease, and sauce. PRICE: The bill came to $23. Considering what they charge per pie at Tony's, this was a dream. EXPERIENCE: I passed out with a huge smile on my face, and the fact they deliver that late? I'm a HUGE FAN... HUUUUGE!!

  • Craig W.

Greasy but very tasty pizza. If you don't care about fat go for it. You'll probably feel sorry they next day but deal with that tomorrow. It's so good in the wee hours of the morning.

  • Jackie M.

Ordered a cheese calzone and there was loads and loads of ham in it. Wasted food because it was just trashed. Regular pizza was good though and fast delivery!

Currently staying in a pretty crappy hotel... Feel free to read that review. Anyways, we were pretty hungry and feeling kinda irritated with our booking so we decided to order from here. BEST PIZZA EVER. They have really good deals and the pizza is so cheesy and delicious. Their breadsticks are amazing. Honestly this pizza place is my favorite in OC, considering we come here multiple times a year.

    (5)
  • Chris B.

Was disappointed to find out that this is the type of pizza you eat after a late night out. The wings meaty but subpar. It is somewhat affordable, but I don't understand that a regular size pie is a personal pie anywhere else. Overall only order from this place if you need to sober up.

    (2)
  • Jennifer Z.

So...only order this pizza if you're a drunk 22 year old who cares nothing for taste, food temperature, and delivery time. The pizza was not cut into slices, the breadsticks had no flavor. Overall, worst pizza I've ever had. Skip the coupons and pay extra for Papa Johns.

  • Jax S.

Ordered white pizza with pepperoni, black olives and banana peppers. Delivery was made within about 30 minutes of ordering. The pizza was hot fresh and the toppings were awesome. I would highly recommend this place.

    (4)
  • Will V.

I like thier pizza. Cant say I ate anything else that they make here. I know that the pizza is different then any other pizza place around. Nice unique taste and flavor. When I ordered it on the phone the guy answering was pretty cool. Said it would be 40 mins (because it was summer) and it was spot on. Gave me enough time to get dressed.;-) So I would recommend them !!

Everyone in this city is talking about this place. Asked a random guy for the best pizza place and he sent me here. Absolutely delicious ! Lots of fun too. Thank you !

Pizza Mambo ROCKS!!! The girl who answers the phone is awesome at midnight! The pizza was tasty and delivered in less time than anticipated!!! Thank you. From the Flying Eagles MC, Baltimore, MD.

  • John M.

I had the pizza delivered to our hotel room, which was a convenience. The place is open all-night, which is a plus for late night munchies. Standard pepperoni pizza was ordered, and delivered lickety-split to my room. I ate more than half the pie so it must have been pretty good! The deal included giant breadsticks, and marinara sauce. The delivery was clutch, food was decent, probably would go back here again.

Open 24 hours during the off season, and the pizza is good. You can't ask for Much more than that.

Excellent pizza. Little different than your typical East Coast style but in a good way. Super fast delivery and courteous delivery guy. The sauce is the bomb!

  • Jocelyn T.

After a long week, I was excited for an evening of relaxing, tv, and some delivery pizza. I decided not to go the normal route and tried Mambo. On a very SLOW evening in OC, my pizza arrived an hour later (quoted 30-45), cold (with oil soaked through the box), no Parmesan cheese or pepper from the delivery guy, and DISGUSTING! My white pizza reminded me of cardboard. I should have known when the man that answered the phone treated me like I don't live there and was just visiting... Not the case. I live there half of the year and work for a local company. I will never go there again. Trust me, there is much better pizza in OC.

  • Jasmine N.

The wings were a combination of too dry and too saucy and undercooked. I ordered the 20 hot wings and only ate about four of them due to my insane hunger

  • Ronni B.

Order placed for delivery. Must say, the only thing holding me at 4 stars is the rude woman who took my order. Tried a bite of my kid's pizza--delicious, and seasoned! Unlike a lot of places, we didn't have to add seasonings to the top of the cheese pizza! Had a cheesesteak---light mayo, light lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, green peppers, and extra provolone cheese. Put ketchup on when it got here---onions weren't just grilled--they were slivered and grilled to perfection. The steak was tasty, and they actually did listen when I said light on the mayo! Hubby got a cheese calzone with ham---he said it was delicious! Wants to go back tomorrow night....but the kids are tired of pizza!

  • Rico Z.

What can I say it's open 24 hours so it has that going for it. Stick with the pizza which was just OK but the wings are some of the worst I have ever had! The bread sticks are huge but tasteless. We had them deliver it to the hotel and it did get there fast but it was during the week in the off season so I have no clue how fast they are during the summer. I might have liked the pizza more if the wings weren't so bad.......

  • Ijiki K.

Pizza mambo is the greatest place on earth... For a 19 year old college student who wants to get away from ramen. The pizza is the latest open in Ocean City, and for good reason- if you're up at 3AM in the morning, there's a guarantee you don't want to look for the most exquisite cuisine possible, and Pizza mambo will suit your needs. The pizza is your everyday, average pizza. It's nothing special, and I can't say much about it. The wings we had while watching a football game were okay, but the sauce was more vinegary than spicy- tailgating or barbecue would have been a much better option. If you're awake right now and every other pizza place is closed, it's not a waste of money... But if you can wait until morning, there are definitely better options.

    (3)
  • TJ H.

Why do they have a 45 min wait?!! Wings were tiny and disgusting (dry & burnt). The hot sauce was squirted onto the wax sheet and then the sheet dumped on top of the wings. That was our "hot wings"!

  • Samantha S.

This is the best pizza place in OCMD! My friends and I order delivery, which is always prompt, a few times during our annual trip to the beach. It's great when you're tipsy after a night out because they deliver fairly late. Try it!

  • Tara M.

The pizza we had delivered was average but the hot wings were the best hot wings I have had in a long time. I will definitely order from them again. Keep up the good work.

This is by far the best pizza place in Ocean City. They are open all day and night and deliver until 4am, i think. I've gotten pizza here on more than once and have always been left full and happy. I don't know what it is about this place but my fiance and I always have to get a pizza there whenever we visit ocean city.

What's not to like? A huge thunderstorm dumping buckets made it nearly impossible to go out. Traveling with 3 men (husband and 2 sons - you sickos) - dinner was becoming more important by the minute. We ordered the"family special" from a coupon. The young lady on the phone wasn't the most cheerful, but she was highly efficient and knew the menu inside and out. She was patient while I made critical decisions (bleu cheese or ranch?) None of that - "what coupon is it?" Or forgetting to ask what kind of sauce/dressing we wanted and sending stuff you hate. She covered everything. And on a rainy Friday night, she said 30-45 minutes. It was 35 minutes. This is critical because the power was out, there were no elevators, the doors were locked requiring a key, and it was pouring - I mean pouring down rain. I'm only doing 4 stars because while everything was good, nothing was remarkable. Pizza was fine. NY style with good crust and cheese, generous pepperoni distribution. The salad was a little lame with iceberg lettuce and pre-sliced onions, and bottled Italian dressing. But it did have some nice thin sliced tomatos and sliced green bell peppers. Also, it was well packaged in a clear plastic claimshell, and packed separately from the pizza so I didn't get a cooked salad. The men in the family are chicken wing experts. They started with Niagara Falls and Buffalo, so they have a good frame of reference. They were very impressed. Wings were not the biggest, but they rated them a solid 8-9 on a scale of one to ten for flavor and texture. They do prefer them a bit crispier, so if you are looking for big, fat, sloppy wings you will not like these. The bonus we weren't expecting was the breadsticks. 6 humongous breadsticks made out of pizza dough. Soft and chewy - with sauce to dip in. Again, if you like the cookie cutter stamped, butter soaked breadsticks from the chain places, you will not enjoy these. So overall, I would not go out of my way to go here, but it would be a good standby for those times you don't feel like going out, need something cheap, or people are undecided about what they want.

I am currently enjoying a nice Pizza Bianca with a Yuengling in my room and I must say, this is a tasty pizza. Here are my pro's and con's for this pie: Pro's: The crust is perfect. It is crispy underneath yet chewy. It is not to thin nor to thick. The flavor is also spot on. This is what a pizza crust should be. Now, the cheese is really nice as well. Some pizza has a cheese with strange consistency or just doesn't taste right. The cheese they use is great. Last but not least, delivery! I had my pizza in about 30 mins to the hotel I am at. Con's: This is more of a personal con but I prefer more garlic on my white pizza. That's just me. Either way, this is delicious! I am only in town for a couple of days so I will not be able to eat here again which sucks as I would really like to see what some of the other pizza is like. Bottom line, I would eat here again in a heart beat.

Absolutely terrible. We ordered this on our last night of our OC weekend trip thinking it would be nice to get some NY style pizza. Big regret. 1) Wings. Ordered a 10 piece BBQ. Wings were tiny, much smaller than the ones you get at the chain places. They were not tossed in sauce. Instead some BBQ sauce was drizzled on the top. And to make matters worse, out of 10 wings, 5 of them had broken bones. 2) Cheese fries. Unsalted nasty fries. I was expecting something baked with cheese. Instead I find a styrofoam container with a half-filled 2oz contained of COLD cheese whiz. I like whiz, but really? Cold? 3) Cheese calzone. Two center pieces had a decent amount of cheese. The side pieces had none. Cold tomato sauce. 4) Pepperoni pizza. Not half bad, but nothing to write home for. Crust is fantastic. Good amount of pepperoni and grease. Could use more cheese. Main complaint is the lack of tomato sauce. Really, really dry pizza. Disappointing. 5) Staff. I just spent 50 bucks here for this nasty food. At least thank me for my order and not blow me off when I say something to you. Will never be ordering here again.

(06/27/2012) Love that this place will deliver a pizza until 5am! The crust is great, chewy, crisped and nicely salty. Got the Popeye (spinach, bacon, onion, ricotta)delivered at 3am, it was delivered at the promised time (within 45 minutes) and was hot and gooey. Toppings were plentiful and a tasty mix of creamy ricotta, fresh slightly bitter spinach, smoky and salty bacon. Great late night fix for those carbs/starches/fats to soak up the booze.

Decided to try Pizza Mambo after reading these reviews...big mistake. This was the worst pizza I've ever had in my life, worse than 7-11. There was nothing unique or special about the pizza. Wouldn't eat another slice if they were giving it away.

Dude. This was the absolute worst pizza I've ever had in my life. I can't believe this joint was so popular! When my friends and I opened the pizza box, my first thought was, "Whoa, this pizza looks perfect...a little TOO perfect" (Looked like one of those store bought Boboli pizzas) My friend said, "Ugh...what's that weird smell?" But we gave it a chance. Then we tasted it. Holy hell. Really??? The crust had no taste...which is why I am laughing at all the reviews here...and the cheese seemed so fake! No meltiness or stretchiness that you expect from a really good pizza. I grew up near some of the best pizza places in my opinion, many in New York, and some here in NJ. So, call me a food snot if you wish. But, I would order Domino's over this crap. That's sad. Oh and did I mention the wings we got were sucky, as well? At least my friends and I had a good laugh while we were trying to stomach the pizza....we were reading all the good reviews in disbelief!

One of the few places open Christmas Eve. I'm a New Yorker, having lived in NYC and Buffalo, so I know good pizza and wings. In addition, I have since lived and traveled all over the country, and have tasted how these can be messed up big time. I must say, both the wings and the pizza were excellent at Pizza Mambo. Best wings I have had in a long, long time. The wings were crispy (most places under cook them), tasty (had the dry rub like others mentioned), and meaty. Pizza took me back to NYC - really enjoyed it. Anyone who doesn't like this pizza doesn't know good pizza from bad (like Ledo's - that pizza sucks). Highly recommend Pizza Mambo.

Was disappointed to find out that this is the type of pizza you eat after a late night out. The wings meaty but subpar. It is somewhat affordable, but I don't understand that a regular size pie is a personal pie anywhere else. Overall only order from this place if you need to sober up.

Ordered white pizza with pepperoni, black olives and banana peppers. Delivery was made within about 30 minutes of ordering. The pizza was hot fresh and the toppings were awesome. I would highly recommend this place.

Happy Eats.

STAY AWAY!

The wings were a combination of too dry and too saucy and undercooked. I ordered the 20 hot wings and only ate about four of them due to my insane hunger

  • TJ H.

Why do they have a 45 min wait?!! Wings were tiny and disgusting (dry & burnt). The hot sauce was squirted onto the wax sheet and then the sheet dumped on top of the wings. That was our "hot wings"!

This is the best pizza place in OCMD! My friends and I order delivery, which is always prompt, a few times during our annual trip to the beach. It's great when you're tipsy after a night out because they deliver fairly late. Try it!

Pizza crust is the worst I've ever had. Chewy, flavorless, like cardboard. Would not eat here again. Hungry? Keep looking.

Great service! Pretty good pizza for MD and for 3am. Fast delivery and friendly staff. If you find yourself hungry after a night at the bar definitely hit up Pizza Mambo. Two convenient locations for delivery uptown and downtown.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
